Jamaat-e-Islami Riots
Since Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee was handed down a death sentence in a war crimes case on February 28, 2013, Muslims attacked temples, houses and shops of Hindus in four districts. 94 people died, more than 47 temples, 700 houses and dozens of shops of the minorities across the country were vandalised, torched and looted.

Police Officers Attacked
At least four policemen were injured, one critically, and a firearm and a walkie-talkie were snatched from them when Jamaat-e-Islami activists and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir clashed with police in Rajshahi city April 1, 2013.

Tens of Thousands of Muslims Praying During Street Rally
Tens of thousands of Muslim activists praying on the streets of the Bangladeshi capital during a rally (March 29, 2013) calling for the introduction of blasphemy laws and the restoration of a caretaker government. Members of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh demanded the arrest of "atheist bloggers who insulted Islam" and the passing of laws to punish those who "insulted Islam" in the parliament.

Three Bangladeshi bloggers Russel Parvez, 36, Subrata Adhikari Shuvo, 24, and Mashiur Rahman Biblop, 42, arrested and paraded for offending Islam on April 2, 2013, 4 days after tens of thousands of Muslims rallied and called for the introduction of blasphemy laws.

Half a Million Muslims Demand Execution of Atheist BloggersHalf a million Muslim protesters marched the streets of Bangladesh’s capital on April 5, 2013, calling for the death penalty for the atheist bloggers who insulted Islam. The city ground to a halt as demonstrators demanded the government change the law to punish blasphemers.
